Department of Building Safety and Inspections
425 Cherokee Drive
The Inspections Department handles all commercial and residential inspections for the city. Call for an appointment to have an inspector come to the site. The Inspections Office operating hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. All building plans must be submitted prior to the issuance of a building permit for the inspectors to review. If you need to contact the Plans Review Examiner, call (205) 655-5483. All new builders to Trussville should set up an appointment with the Department Head of Inspections, Mr. David C Arnett, to go over the requirement for our city prior to beginning the building process. All plans must be reviewed before a building permit will be issued.
Before an Occupancy Certificate can be issued for utilities to be turned on, a complete list of sub-contractors, their address, phone number and license number must be submitted to the Permitting Clerk for verification.
