Lauren Beers Stanton – Director of Gymnastics

Lauren Beers Stanton brings over sixteen years of competitive gymnastics experience as well as over four years of combined coaching experience. As a competitive gymnast, she reached the highest level possible of Senior International Elite where she competed at the US National Championship twice in her career. Lauren competed at the JO National Championships a total of five times and competed as an elite gymnast for four years. Upon finishing high school, Lauren moved to Tuscaloosa where she received a full athletic scholarship to compete on the University of Alabama’s Gymnastics Team. During her time on the team, she was a part of both the 2014 and 2015 SEC Championships. With a combined total of seven NCAA All-American honors, three Academic All-American honors (the most possible), and three-time winner of the Elite 90 Award (She currently holds the record for the most ever won by any NCAA Gymnast.), Lauren exemplified the ideals of being a true Student-Athlete, maintaining a GPA of 4.0 and completing two degrees during her time as a student-athlete. Her coaching experience includes three years of recreation gymnastics coaching during high school, one year of student coaching under Dana Duckworth at the University of Alabama, and five years of coaching various levels at the Alabama Gymnastics camp. Prior to taking this position, she worked as a level 4 coach for the for the last six months at a local gym in the Birmingham area. Lauren has also provided private lessons to local gymnasts over the past eight years as well as traveling around the southeast doing choreography for competitive gymnasts.

Tanna FridayRecreation Instructor

Tanna M. Friday is a native of the Trussville area and graduated from Erwin High School in 1991. She has over 14 years experience as a competitive gymnast. Tanna is a certified distance running coach, 18+ marathoner, and has experience in coaching middle and high school students in both cross country and track. She is very passionate and dedicated to working with individual athletes in reaching their goals. She holds a bachelors and masters degree in both political science and public administration and studied law at the Birmingham School of Law. She has been an active community supporter holding positions as a writer for The Blount Countian, Cahaba Sun, and The Trussville Tribune. She continues to engage the community as a freelance writer and graphic designer for multiple publications and is an established co-owner of advertising agency, Ad2Sisters.
