The City of Trussville Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure. Which includes, but is not limited to, designated roadways, removal of trees, sidewalks, and the stormwater sewer system throughout the City of Trussville.

Examples of services offered:

 

  • Repairing and Replacing storm drain systems like pipe, lids, gutters, and catch basins.
  • Repairing Potholes and maintenance of city streets
  • Maintaining Right of Ways by trimming trees, mowing grass, and bush
  • Overseeing or involved in tree maintenance or tree removal.
  • Installation or repair of street
  • Removal of deceased animals and trash from the Right of
  • Leaf Pickup in winter
  • Removal of trees or storm debris to keep roads and right of ways clear

 

Leaf Pick-up:

Leaf-pick up service is available to each neighborhood throughout the winter months at designated times to assure service is provided fairly around the city. The leaf trucks typically will operate from November to March and will notify residents otherwise.

  • Place leaf piles within 5ft from the curb.
  • Do not place anything in or around leaf piles except leaves. Leaf machines cannot gather rocks, wood, or any other hard material because this will damage the
  • Please refrain from blowing your leaves in the road as this will cause a Hazard for flooding and traffic issues.

Animal Control

Contact Public Works to report animal carcasses on the road.

Dogs and cats are picked up by the Birmingham Humane Society by calling 591-6522. Also, call to redeem your animal.

Barking dog complaints are filed through Trussville Municipal Court at 655-8352.

Report animal neglect or abuse to Trussville Police Department at 655-2101.


Wildlife Animal Control

Any wildlife complaints must go through the State of Alabama Game Warden’s Office at 1-800-272-4263.


Waste Collection

Waste collection includes household garbage, recycling, brush, debris, and bagged grass.

The City’s waste collection service is contracted to an outside vendor, with City Hall as the principal point of contact for requests and resolution of any issues. To make a waste collection request or complaint, you may call Public Works at 205-655-0319.
